Location: Boston, MA
Favorite Food: Pad Thai
Favorite Fitness Activity: Hot Yoga Flow
Favorite Motto: Live with Intention
Dr. Tara knew she wanted to be a psychologist when she was a very shy 11-year old girl. Back then she felt a guidance counselor just didn’t “get it” after a rough and tumble phase in her family life when she refused to go to school, and thought she could be a better listener and role model when she grew up. Ever the observer and intent to help others, she made her way through college and grad school – the first in her generation. Little did she know then that she’d tackle adolescent health and well-being with her techy start-up, BodiMojo.
She’s now just as savvy as any digital native out there. In the meantime her two daughters, ages 12 & 14, and their rambunctious group of friends are helping out, with lots of cool insights about what it means to be a teen girl today and how social media influences their attitudes and behavior. Her goal is to inspire positive body image, self-esteem, and confidence, among today’s teens via tech tools and social media. Dr. Tara is thrilled to have an amazing group of young women contributing to the BodiMojo mission.
Erin’s super-hero mission is to empower people to live healthy and happy lives and one way she does this is through managing BodiMojo. After leaving a career as a pastry chef, Erin earned a Communication degree from Bryant. For the last 2 years she’s been blogging at Creative Soul in Motion, where she talks about self-improvement and general wellness.
Joining BodiMojo was a no-brainer as it perfectly aligned with her own mission to inspire, motivate and support healthy changes in others. Erin is known for her upbeat attitude and (extremely) cheerful demeanor. She’s thrilled to be on the BodiMojo team as she says, “it’s a great resource for helping teens realize their true potential and embrace healthy habits.”

Carol Torgan, PhD
Carol is an exercise physiologist. She originally started off on the path to become a medical doctor and fell in love with how the body moves and works. She studied sports medicine and then delved deeper into studying exactly how our muscles work and why they love to be used. Carol became what her parents lovingly refer to as “the other kind of doctor,” a PhD research scientist. She eventually decided that rather than work in a laboratory surrounded by test tubes, she wanted to tell others how cool our bodies are, so she started writing and lecturing.
Carol consults for a number of organizations, such as the National Institutes of Health. Her areas of interest include fitness, sports medicine, exercise, wellness, and all types of cutting edge science and technologies like genetics and self-tracking gadgets. Carol was the kid that always asked the teachers, “Why?” That curiosity and the desire to share are what make her love to learn and to ask and answer questions. Carol is constantly reassessing what she wants to be when she grows up because there are just so many great options!
