BodiMojo’s a Top Vote Getter at Health 2.0

This just in: Health 2.0’s Launch! featured a rapid-fire preview of the most exciting product and company introductions in health care this year. tara-at-health-20-smAnd guess what: at this user-generated healthcare conference, recently wrapped up in San Fran, among some really tough competition (health interfaces, personalized decision support tools, and more), BodiMojo was chosen third among 11 companies presenting new products. Among other action-packed demos of new services and products, BodiMojo founder Tara Cousineau and creative director Steve Cousineau officially launched BodiMojo, which garnered 18 percent of the audience vote (for those who could text votes in fast enough), with the top choice earning 23 percent – so the BodiMojo site was right up there, in terms of appeal and relevance.

There were other big players in Health IT, including Adam Bosworth, former head of Google Health and now founder of Keas; Jonathan Bush of athenahealth, and David Kibbe of AAFP. We were also inspired and invigorated by the captivating line-up of platforms, tools, and services, all in one exhibit hall.

To prepare for unveiling of BodiMojo at Health 2.0, the team pulled out all the stops, including online assessments, eye-grabbing Web pages and infrastructure, and a wealth of content prepared by fitness, nutrition and body image experts, as well as teens themselves.

BTW, as part of our National Institutes of Health randomized-controlled field study, we launched this aspect of BodiMojo at the end of September at Health Careers Academy; also on board now are Framingham High School and Arlington High. Milton High School students will join the study at the end of the month. And if all goes according to plan, the schools will finish their Web sessions before the December break. Students are interacting with the site, filling out online health assessment, taking quizzes, reading articles, playing games, setting and tracking health goals, and measuring their daily steps with Actipeds.

We have officially Launched! But our work is just beginning. Stay tuned.
